Not sure what possessed me to do so, but I felt like rambling for a bit. Not sure if this would qualify as an actual meme but hey. It gives you a chance to express your love for series and why you think people should watch/read them?

Anyway, I've listed the five series I have had a love for for God knows how long. Ask any question you want about them, ranging from why to what makes them so great to whatever else you can think of.

    Ronin Warriors
    Doctor Who
    Angel Sanctuary
    Yu Yu Hakusho
Leijiverse (Captain Harlock, Galaxy Express 999, CosmoWarrior Zero, etc.)

The single BEST serial in DW, and your FAVOURITE serial in DW, which may/may not be the same thing.

Discuss.

Who is your fav Angel Sanctuary character and why? How'd you get into the series?

I'll have to think about the BEST SERIAL EVER, but my favorite serial? Hands down it's The Leisure Hive. Granted, it is a Four and Romana II serial, but that isn't the reason it is my number one.

The Argolins themselves are an alien race I've grown fond of because, to me, they were a youngling version of the Time Lords in a way. They're on the right track with time manipulation as Romana and the Doctor pointed out when they said that the tachyon-based method they were using was one they had used albeit aaaages ago. Not to mention I loved Mena and while Pangol was labeled a 'villain', he was really just a miss-guided Argolin with big ambitions. I think that with him being converted into a baby by the end of the serial he would have a chance to redeem himself with Mena there to properly raise him.

Not to mention you get old man!Four who is far more epic than old man!Ten in my honest opinion. And the opening sequence with them on Brighton? It's quite possibly one of the most memorable moments in the entire seasons if only because we learn that K9 needs to learn when it's okay not to fetch.

Archangel Uriel. He's a serious character with a tragic story of his own and yet he had his comical moments after the destruction of the mask. He's a caring soul and his fondness for Doll always touched me. Not to mention after meeting Setsuna, he turned things around for himself. And even found a way to repay his debt to Setsuna after he refused to kill him by getting involved with Sara/Jibril's trial to try and help her. Uriel is an honorable angel with a likable personality with some issues that he still needs to work out.

I got into this series in the beginning of high school, about freshman year I think. Originally I seen the three episode OVA and was put off by it. It didn't sit well with me. But about a year or two later I picked up the manga. After I got through the first three volumes (which is essentially the OVA) I found myself getting really hooked into the storyline as well as the characters. The art is detailed and pleasing to my eyes, not to mention for such a serious and grave plot, Kaori still managed moments of light hearted comedy that was really needed to keep this series in balance.

Cool. :D I was confused when he kept changing around til I got to the end of his story, but I get that it was just the mask now. XD Doll is awesome.

[livejournal.com profile] sandkarasu and another friend got me to read it by RPing from it. I always was scared off thinking it was just another show about characters sleeping around, so I was really happily surprised at what a deep story it was. It's probably one of my favs now too.

The Brighton scene is wonderful. K9 is a.... a wonderful dog, but a special one. And I do like that point about them being sort-of Time Lords, and the characters were all ones I really liked too. I actually quite, quite enjoyed that serial myself!

Tell me about how you got into Ronin Warriors :D

It had been during middle school, I wanna say 7th grade. I had seen the commercial for it on Toonami (you know, back when it played the good stuff) and watched the first episode when it aired. From then on I was hooked and have been for years. XD

I miss Toonami so badly. It was so awesome back in the day... best block of tv ever.

...RONIN WARRIORS. /basks in fond nostalgia

Um. What made you start writing Romana?

[identity profile] nodoff.livejournal.com 2009-08-09 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
This is so unbelievably late I am so sorry Ash!

It all started a few years ago when I borrowed the Key to Time boxset from my father. I was immediately drawn in by Romana's character and decided to make a journal for her just to fiddle around with in random places. Of course I ended up apping her into [livejournal.com profile] paradisa and you know the rets of the story from there! ♥
