Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] pereppi~. ♥ She had ordered for both herself and I a Wrist strong bracelet seeing as we are rather big fans of The Colbert Report. It came in today in which I am now proudly wearing.

About the only thing I accomplished today was a short piece of fan writing. A small crossover of JEKYLL and Doctor Who. Warnings of spoilers and the written piece are below .

Title: Everyone Has A Story
Characters/Pairing: Tom Jackman, Martha Jones (Doctor Who/JEKYLL crossover)
Rating: G
Word Count: 424
Spoilers: In JEKYLL it is set during the six months between the escape from the manor and before Tom visited his mother; set during the Year That Never Was in Doctor Who right at the end of The Sound of Drums.
Summary: This was just a small idea that sort of popped into my head during work this afternoon. Nothing extravagant seeing as it's just Martha and Tom talking; just something to amuse myself and others.

Words of thanks left her lips in a hushed tone. Accepting the mug of hot coffee from her host she could only smile faintly; Martha could feel now just how tired she actually was even though barely a day had come to pass. Pressing the mug to her lips she drank deeply, making a small sound of content.

"Your clothes are drying now. Are you sure you're comfortable?"

Martha lifted her head and nodded. "It's more than enough, thank you, Mister Jackman."

With a nod he eased himself into a chair across from her. Thomas Jackman left his own cup untouched on the table, instead folding his hands over his lap, studying her with a quiet stare. It was somewhat unnerving, really, but she said nothing of it. The hot drink proved to be the perfect distraction for the time being as they both fell silent. Just outside the rain was pouring, pounding against the roof.

"How long will you be needing to stay?"

She looked up from mug again. "Just for the night. That's all I need." And then after a pause, she added, "Thank you."

The corners of his lips twitched as if a smile was tugging at them to form. "With the whole world falling into chaos it's the least I can do to help someone." Crossing a leg over the other, the doctor leaned back in his chair with his chin resting against the back of his hand. "You said you were on a mission, to help stop all this madness."

It wasn't until she finished her next swallow did Martha respond with an answer so simple that even the doctor arched an eyebrow in doubt, "To tell a story."

"A story?"

"A story."

"A story."

"Is there an echo in here?"

Tom couldn't help the chuckle to follow. The confines of the old apartment was the only means of protection he could offer the savior - it had been his domain months ago to protect the world from him. Now it was protecting thew world from her. It was quite ironic, really. And as he watched this young doctor in training before him, for just a brief moment, the fleeting thought of just how normal she appeared to be left him to wonder.

He was one to talk.

He noticed her staring at him as he was lost in his thought; bowing his head a fraction, "I'm sorry, I just have had my own... history with stories, that's all."

"What do you mean?"

"They can never be taken lightly."
